Google Looks to Revolutionize Social Media with Google+

Google has always been the company to revolutionize things; they did it with search, videos, and even their mobile operating system, Android. Well now, Google is looking to change the way people talk to and interact with each other via social media. There have been many social media sites out there such as Facebook and Twitter, but Google never quite got into the social space. Google attempted to try and challenge Facebook, and Twitter with Google Buzz but it turned out to be a failure. Google went back to the drawing boards and decided to enter the social media space again except instead of Buzz the new service that was announced is Google+.

Google+ was announced today and is in private development, so if you want to get into the service you will need an invitation. The service looks to change how people interact with each other. They are going to do that by using this thing called circles. The whole Concept about circles is that you can add any of your Google contacts to a certain group such as work, and anything you share will be shared to your work group. Also if you had an elite group of friends you could make. A circle and only share you status, photos, etc. to that certain group.  Also very cool to Google+ is the feature to join a Hangout which Google calls them and what you do is that you can join this hangout and video chat with any of the people I that hangout! You can have a good amount of people in these video chat sessions and it makes connecting and sharing with people much easier. The last new feature of Google+ is Sparks. With Sparks you can have Google + deliver all the content that interests you and it brings it to your Google + page to read, watch or even share. There will also be an Android application that is now available if you were lucky enough to get invited into the service. This looks like it could be a big success, let’s just hope Google doesn’t screw it up like they did with Google Buzz. Videos below.
