12 video games for 2023 that we are looking forward to

The video game industry does not seem to have a ceiling and every year more users add to the cause. And also more income for manufacturers who handle the Gaming as a promotional center for their products, be they consoles, PCs, components or peripherals. Of course, the games themselves are the most important thing in this business and we hope a great year for the news announced.

The 12 video games for 2013 that we look forward to the most

2022 was quite a good year for the industry and we were able to enjoy numerous releases. But the enormous complexity in the development of the big titles and the commercial interests delayed some of them. In addition, the new batch that we met at the last big event of the year dedicated to video games, The Game AwardsThey added a few others to a list that the truth is explosive.

We leave you some of them in a subjective selection because here it is not possible -at the moment- to talk about better and worse and also, for tastes, colors. We put them in alphabetical order and we already read your opinion in the comments, if you are going to play them or if you have others in mind that you are looking forward to more.

video games by 2023

1.- Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon

From Software won -deservedly in our opinion- the main awards in 2022 with Elden Ring and for this reason it is one of the studies to follow. By 2023, it will return to its roots, but not with a soul-like title, but with an action game in which players will ride and pilot their own robot. From what we know so far and seen the trailer, it will be an action mecha, eminently for a single player, but where the story will have its leading role. The publisher, Bandai Namco, announced that the game will be released throughout 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

2.- Assassin’s Creed Mirage

New installment of the Ubisoft action and adventure video game saga. If we haven’t lost count, it will be the thirteenth main installment of the franchise, one of the longest-lived in the industry since if we include minor titles we can go to two dozen in total. The game will come after the completion of the trilogy of the Viking world of Valhalla, the Origins in Egypt and the Odyssey in Greece. Mirage will be set in the 9th century in the city of Baghdad and will put us in the shoes of a cunning street thief. According to Ubisoft, the new installment “will pay tribute to the roots of the series”, so we can expect more stealth, more murders and more parkour and less role-playing elements than those massively incorporated since Origins. It will be available in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC and Amazon Luna.

3.- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

With the original Avatar movie reclaiming the highest-grossing title of all time and with the second installment, ‘The Sense of Water,’ also bringing in big bucks, it was clear triple-A development was underway. It will be a first-person action-adventure game, with a story independent from that of the movies, but traveling through the Pandora ecosystem in the open world. It is being developed by Massive Entertainment, one of the many studios that Ubisoft has, and for PC and consoles it has a release schedule that is too long for our liking: between April 2023 and March 2024. For next Christmas we will settle.

4.- Baldur’s Gate 3

The oldest of the place will remember the premiere of the saga at the end of the 20th century. Bioware, (a great of the time, much more prestigious than now) created a work of art that revitalized the genre of computer role-playing games. Now and under the fifth Edition of Dungeons & Dragons (AD&D) the developer Larian Studios, known for the good feelings it left with Divinity: Original Sin, got down to work to relaunch a mythical saga for those of us who like the role-playing genre. It has been in the “early access” phase for more than two years with availability on Steam. Personally I have played what has been coming and I liked it a lot. We’ll let you know if, finally, the deadlines and the launch announcement for August 2023 on PC Windows and macOS are met.

5.- Diablo IV

Bigger and meaner than ever, we have little more to tell you that we haven’t already told you about this game that many in our newsroom like. Action RPG in a big way, we hope to mercilessly kill all kinds of enemies, epic battles against bosses, high fantasy character designs, the ability to share everything with our combat partners and in that cast of playable classes that allow you to repeat the I play as if it were a different person. On June 6, 2023, all hell will break loose on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. And the guys at Blizzard, just as they take great care of releases with super-polished code, they do meet the announced dates. We’re going to pump ourselves up on killing demons next summer.

6.- Final Fantasy XVI

The franchise does not require any introduction because it is a tremendously popular saga with a ton of published games. Square Enix has two novelties underway, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth and the one in question, an action role set in a fantasy world. Although in its first announcement there was talk of a version for PV Windows, it was finally discarded and the game will only be available for PS5. A pity considering the disastrous situation in the distribution of consoles. It will arrive on June 22, 2023.

7.- Fire Emblem Engage

Another exclusive, in this case for the Switch, will come from another of Nintendo’s most successful franchises, with two dozen titles behind it and which has not been renewed since Three Houses in 2019. The saga is characterized -and has marked the way to many others – in the sub-genre of tactical role-playing (turn-based strategy and role-playing) in which the player manages his units/characters across a map in order to defeat enemies. It will be one of the first to arrive from this entire selection of video games for 2023, for the Nintendo Switch on January 20.

8.- Forspoken

Another of those scheduled for launch in 2022 that has not yet arrived, but it will very soon. Living in New York and suddenly ending up in an unknown world like Athia is the starting line for our protagonist, Frey, who thanks to her unique abilities, both to explore a huge open world and in combat thanks to a magical parkour system, You will have to face numerous enemies and unravel the secrets of the world. Under the command of Square Enix, it will be available for PC Windows and PS5 on January 24.

9.- Hogwarts Legacy

One of the first big titles of the year will arrive in February. It is not the first that the wizard Potter stars (nor will it be the last) and also, they have been far from the pull of the movies and not to mention the books. From Avalanche Software (with the Warner Bros. Games edition) they promise to raise the level of everything known about this franchise with an action RPG set in the universe of the Harry Potter books, but developed in an immersive open world that -they say – will allow you to create your own adventure for each player. Launching on February 10 for all major platforms, PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.

10.- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Another of the delayed and expected with enormous expectation (it won the title of “most anticipated” at the Game Awards 2022 and nominated for the same in 2020 and 2021) is the new Zelda from Nintendo that will raise the level of the catalog available for the Switch. If the previous Breath of the Wild won all the awards and became one of those games that sell consoles by itself, no less is expected of this Tears of the Kingdom, a direct sequel to the great action title and adventure. Its release date is scheduled for May 12, 2023 exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

11.- Starfield

We have already been a few years behind in this selection of video games for 2013 and here we have another one. And not just anyone if we take into account that we are talking about a «space skyrim«. They say from Bethesda that this next-generation role-playing game set among the stars is the first completely new universe they have created in 25 years and where any type of character can be created with unparalleled freedom. Big words for the creator of sagas like The Elder Scrolls or Fallout… Another long-awaited game that should be released this year.

12.- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Star Wars continues to give all kinds of content and of course video games. The game is set five years after the events seen in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and follows the story of Cal Kestis, now a mighty Jedi, on a new epic adventure to protect the galaxy and prevent it from being fully invaded. in the dark. There will be new planets and unique ecosystems; more bosses and villains like the mysterious Imperial Senator Pau’an and a cinematic combat system with new styles. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 17, 2023.

Remember. It is only a subjective selection of the videogames for 2013 that we look forward to most. There will be many more and for other platforms such as mobile. The Gaming industry continues to grow in all fields and we expect a great year in launching its main attraction: games.
