You are not using all the functions and features of your Windows 11. Even if you have the latest version of the operating system installed, Microsoft has its own “beta program”, more advanced versions that hide news and improvements that, sooner or later, will reach everyone computers, for now only a very small group of users can test. And here we are going to leave you 6 features that, for now, are only available to users of these “beta” versions.
The Windows “Insider” program is a branch of system development through which Microsoft allows users to access early versions of the operating system in order to detect possible problems and errors of what will be future updates of the OS and, to Instead, users can get early access to what’s coming with the next major system update. This is a program that all users can sign up for, although it is only recommended for advanced users, since in these versions there are usually glitches, errors, and problems that can even cause the PC to stop working.
Although there are still months to download the new big update to Windows 11, Microsoft has already let us see a handful of the news that will reach all users with this future update. And then we are going to talk about the 6 that we consider most important.
Seconds on the taskbar clock. This is one of the latest additions, and it will allow us to display the second hand on the taskbar clock, something that users have been waiting for 30 years and that has finally come true.
Easier copy authentication codes that arrive by mail. If we usually make use of double authentication systems by email, we will like this novelty. Thanks to it we will be able to copy the authentication codes that arrive by email much more easily and quickly, even without having to open the email.
new volume mixer. This is also one of the most anticipated. Thanks to it we will be able to configure the volume independently by application, something that until now forced us to use a program called “EarTrumpet” and that, finally, will be native to Windows 11.
Improvement in Windows color settings. Automatic color management will improve the image quality of all monitors, even low-end ones with an 8-bit color rate. Of course, the users who will notice it the most are those with 10-bit or 16-bit screens.
Better tabs in the browser. Although having tabs in the file explorer has always been a dream, and it came true at the end of 2022, it is still an imperfect feature. Future Windows updates will allow us to work much better with them, for example, moving them, or placing tabs from one window inside another.
Lots of widget improvements. Finally, another element that will improve is the widget panel. Very soon we will be able to see a much more ordered and classified panel, with theme recognition, animated icons and much more. A much more useful panel with much more relevant information.
Download the “beta” of Windows 11
There are two ways to download the Windows 11 beta to be able to test these and other new features of the OS. The first one is by signing up for the Insider program and downloading the updates directly from Windows Update. It is the fastest and easiest, recommended if we do not want to format.
And the second is by downloading the Insider ISO from the Microsoft website, which will allow us to install a Windows 11 already updated to this beta version from scratch in order to start enjoying these news as soon as possible.
