Following the deactivation of the 4G antenna which would have resulted in the death of around forty cows in Haute-Loire, Orange, Free, SFR and Bouygues Telecom have united to contest the court decision. The latter argue, among other things, that the antenna covers 450 households, which will therefore no longer have access to emergency numbers.
This is a case that will certainly give grain to grind to anti-5G, particularly active since the deployment of the network. Since the summer of 2021, Frédéric Sagères, a breeder from Mazeyrat d’Allier, near Clermont-Ferrand, has noticed a strange phenomenon in his herd of cows. Indeed, following the installation of a 4G antenna about 200 meters from his farm, many health problems have appeared within his breeding, ranging from loss of sight to the death of 42 cattle.
lively de facto a drop in his milk production, Frédéric Sagères decides to take legal action to order the deactivation of the antenna. Favor granted a few weeks ago, when the Clermond-Ferrand court took action to block the 4G site. Now operators have three months to end service in the region while offering a solution to maintain emergency calls.
Orange, Free, Bouygues Telecom and SFR unite to avoid deactivation of the 4G antenna
However, the latter do not intend to let it go. Yesterday, the French Telecoms Federation announced that the operators have decided to appeal the court decision, arguing in particular that “this antenna covers approximately 450 households and if it no longer works, there will be no more access to emergency numbers”. A spokeswoman for the organization also adds that “Since the health crisis, it is more difficult to do without digital, if only with the development of telework”.
On the same subject: 5G poses no health risk, it is still officially confirmed
Orange, Free and Bouygues Telecom also argue that this decision is not based on any real scientific evidence. The legal expert appointed by the State had indeed admitted to having no medical evidence to establish a link between the installation of the 4G antenna and the health problems detected within the herd. Orange finally specifies that this antenna was built as part of the “New Deal” operation, a government operation aimed at covering the entire population with 4G.
