The Pégases, a ceremony rewarding French video games, will take off again next March with two new categories to reward.
After the Game Awards, which reward the best video games of the year internationally, in France we have the right to our own ceremony called the Pegasus. 2022 will already mark the third ceremony devoted to productions by French studios. If last year is mainly Microsoft Flight Simulator who won the most palms, this year, there is change.
Indeed, the organizers announce the addition of two categories, which can still make the differences among the different studios. The first concerns accessibility, which has been at the heart of all debates for several years now. While more and more developers are trying to integrate accessibility-related features from the earliest design phases – like Microsoft – this is not yet the case for everyone and the efforts of the pioneers are therefore to be welcomed.
The second category will involve the players themselves with the Pegasus of the public. Players will therefore be able to go online to vote for their favorite game of 2021. A category in partnership with Micromania-Zing, one of the proud representatives of the French commercial video game industry. This will therefore bring the number of awards to 19, for 85 video games in the running.
Where and when to participate in the Pégases?
This year, despite the global pandemic, the organizers wanted to celebrate French video games in person and online. In physics, the event will be held at the Théâtre de la Cigale on Thursday March 10 at 8 p.m. It will be reserved for some 1,000 video game professionals and will be presented by Salomé Lagresle.
It will be broadcast online on various channels such as Twitch, Le Stream, Jeuxvideo.com, Steam and ES1, on the same date and same time. As usual, the organization reveals the nominees in advance, three per category as tradition dictates. Check out the full list below

This year, we were treated to some French nuggets in 2021, such as Deathloop developed by Arkane Lyon. We also have the indie title Road 96, which made a strong impression on us. Finally, we can expect to see Humankind, a 4x management game released this summer on PC and Game Pass, pick up some awards as well.
