a killer cloud in Jordan Peele’s next film

After Get Out and Us, Jordan Peele returns to directing a new horror film. The filmmaker will unveil this summer Nope, whose first trailer has just been shared.

Last July, Jordan Peele shared the enigmatic poster of his next film. A feature film called Boop, so as not to derogate from the rule of very short titles that make its reputation. This first image said very little about the plot that would unfold. We see only a cloud above a city, with a kite in its heart. A thriller about a killer cumulonimbus? Not really according to the first trailer.

The sequence opens with the filming of a spot, with the descendant of the first man to appear in an animated image. The story should follow horse trainers for Hollywood who helplessly witness the arrival of a strange climatic phenomenon. A storm that seems to agitate animals and affect electricity. Difficult for the moment to know what it returns. Especially since Universal Pictures is withholding information and hasn’t shared a synopsis yet.

Reunion on the big screen

We can nevertheless imagine that this will be an opportunity for the producer and director to offer us a reflection on our societies, with an ecological fable? Patience. What we do know, however, is that Peele recruited among his favorite actors to embody the main characters. Thus, we will find Daniel Kaluuya (get out) in the shoes of a man who whispers in the ears of horses. He will give the reply to Keke Palmer (Foodtastic) and Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead).

Moreover, Michael Wincott (Westworld), Barbie Ferreira (Euphoria) and Terry Notary (The forest’s call) were also announced. Behind the scenes, Jordan Peele will be both directing and writing the screenplay. The meeting with Boop (“nan” in English) is fixed at August 3 next. Until then, Universal will be sure to tell us more about the mysterious project, presumably via another trailer and a detailed synopsis.

Otherwise, we will find Jordan Peele on Netflix, in the stop-motion film Wendell and Wild. Jordan Peele will voice Wendell opposite Keegan-Michael Key who will play Wild. It will be directed by Henry Selick, to whom we owe James and the Giant Peach, Coralinebut also and mostly The strange Christmas of Mr. Jack.
