A Plague Tale Requiem runs at 1440p and 30 FPS on Xbox Series X and PS5

A Plague Tale Requiem was one of the games we used in our analysis of the GeForce RTX 4090, and from the first moment it was clear to me that it is one of the most demanding that has hit the market so far this year, not in vain we are talking about a title that, configured in maximum quality, reached the 78 FPS in 4K with said graphics cardalthough thanks to DLSS 3 and the generation of frames it could reach 134 FPS without problems.

We have also seen that its requirements marked an important jump on PC, since in order to play it with the lowest possible configuration while maintaining acceptable fluidity, it is necessary to have a GeForce GTX 970 or with a Radeon RX 570, and in the recommended requirements, nothing more and nothing less than a powerful GeForce RTX 3070 was indicated to play in 1080p. I like to think that those requirements are inflated, but I can confirm that A Plague Tale Requiem is very demanding in terms of hardware.

Due to its high demands in terms of hardware, I had my doubts about how this title would work on Xbox Series X and PS5. It was clear that, in the end, it would be necessary make sacrifices in graphic quality or resolution for A Plague Tale Requiem to work well on both consoles, and today we can confirm that it does.

ElAnalistaDeBits has shared a video analysis where we can see that the game works on 1440p and at 30 frames per second on both consoles (40 FPS at 120 Hz), but Xbox Series X offers more stable performance, and PS5 has problems in certain areas, especially in those more open and with a large number of rats.

A Plague Tale Requiem

On Xbox Series S we have a significant cutback in graphic quality, and the game only works on 1080p and 30 frames per secondalthough in any case it is quite an achievement considering the minimum requirements of A Plague Tale Requiem and taking into account the GPU that the console mounts.

The PC version is the one that offers better graphics quality overall, and is particularly notable for increased vegetation, superior ambient occlusion and shadows, and higher-quality anisotropic filtering. Said version will also soon receive a patch that will apply ray tracing, said patch will improve the graphic quality but will increase the hardware requirements even more.

Regarding the performance of the PC version we see that a modest GeForce RTX 3050 can move it at 2,240 x 2,160 pixels with DLSS in quality mode, graphic settings to the maximum and maintain stable averages between 30 and 55 FPS depending on the area in which we are, because the frame rate can fluctuate a lot. This also indicates optimization problems, without any doubt. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti moves quite comfortably in 1440p with maximum quality thanks to DLSS in balanced mode, since it stays in the 60 FPS range with a small drop.

For smooth 4K gameplay and stable 60 FPS with A Plague Tale Requiem at maximum quality it is not enough to have a GeForce RTX 3080since as we see in the video said graphic drops below 60 FPS frequently even with DLSS 3 in performance mode.
