Just days after its release on Amazon Prime Video, the Reacher series has already been renewed for season 2.
Amazon Prime Video has just launched its new action series. After Jack Ryan, the platform is interested in another Jack, this time the one created by Lee Child in 1997. After two opuses on the big screen, in 2012 and 2016, Jack Ryan made a first foray on the SVOD platform. It is Alan Ritchson who takes over from Tom Cruise and who portrays this former member of the military police. While he finds himself in prison in the small town of Margrave in Georgia, for a crime he did not commit, Jack Reacher joins forces with two police officers to dismantle a mafia system. Together, they will have to go up the chain of a gigantic network of counterfeiters.
The entirety of Season 1 has been made available to Amazon Prime subscribers this Friday, February 4. A first burst of episodes which visibly convinced the spectators and the platform, which offered it a second season. According to Deadline, the e-commerce giant has already ordered the sequel. It must be said that the success was there. Amazon Prime Video announces that it has joins the TOP 5 of its most viewed series in the United States and around the world, in just 24 hours. It would also be rather well positioned in the ranking of the Amazon Originals series best rated by viewers (4.7 out of 5). On rottentomatoes, it was certified Fresh by audience and critics. She gets the honest score of 89%.
26 seasons?
During the promotional campaign, Alan Ritchson spoke about the future of the series. If season 2 had not been formalized then, he confided to First be ready to do it again. And the creators will have material since the author has already published 26 volumes of his saga. “I am ready to do 26 seasons! I’m up for adapting each of the books. We could even push up to 30, as Lee Child continues to release new volumes on a regular basis.”
