On the sidelines of the announcement of the Magic 4 range, Honor confirms the arrival of the Watch GS 3 and Earbuds 3 Pro. A connected, elegant and enduring watch, as well as headphones capable of monitoring body temperature.
The announcements are linked at Honor for the opening of the Mobile World Congress 2022. The Chinese brand has just presented its Magic 4 and is also interested in the segment of connected objects. Honor confirms the launch in Europe of its Watch GS 3, a connected watch that relies on its elegant design and its autonomy. It is accompanied by the Earbuds Pro 3, wireless headphones with a body temperature tracking function.
Honor Watch GS 3: when the brand is inspired by traditional watches
The Honor Watch GS3 is not unknown in the columns of the Journal du Geek. This elegant connected watch was indeed unveiled at the beginning of the year in China and is about to land in Europe. The firm’s latest watch seeks to combine design and health tracking functions. Its approach is reminiscent of traditional watchmaking… and of the Watch GT 3 of its former parent company Huawei.
In stainless steel, the frame of the watch accommodates a round AMOLED screen of 1.43 inches. It displays a definition of 466 x 466 pixels to provide a density of 326 pixels; as well as a brightness of up to 1,000 nits. The watch has a 45.9 mm case that is 10.5 mm thick, and weighs approximately 44 g.
The expected functions are present, starting with monitoring heart rate and blood oxygen levels (SpO2). Algorithms are present to improve “the accuracy of the heart rate monitoring function”. The Watch GS 3 also has an accelerometer and a gyroscopic, as well as functions dedicated to sports practice.
The connected tocante supports more than a hundred sports activities. It can also automatically detect 6 sports and track them; adding animations, advice and recommendations. The watch incorporates an NFC chip and claims a 14-day battery life (or 30 hours with continuously active GPS), thanks to its 451 mAh battery. A quick charge ensures 1 day of use after 5 minutes of charging. Finally, there is an NFC chip and 4 GB of storage.
Earbuds 3 Pro: these headphones measure body temperature
The other major novelty concerns the Earbuds 3 Pro, true wireless headphones. They feature a hybrid design featuring an 11mm dynamic driver in addition to another transducer. The main curiosity of the Earbuds 3 Pro is their ability to measure body temperature, an industry first according to the manufacturer.
This pair of headphones also has an active noise reduction system. Honor offers an adaptive solution to reduce ambient noise when listening to music or making calls. The Earbuds 3 Pro communicate via Bluetooth 5.2 and each earbud weighs 5.1g. They claim up to 6 hours of listening time on a single charge and 24 hours with the charging case. The latter is compatible with fast charging, offering a 65% charge in just 10 minutes. Finally, the headphones are IPS54 certified while the case has an IP52 certification.
Prices and availability
The Watch GS 3 watch is announced at 229 euros in its version and 249 euros for the blue and gold models. On the headphone side, the Earbuds 3 Pro will be marketed at a price of 199 euros, in white or gray.
