A total of 48 companies will make up the Spain Pavilion at MWC Barcelona 2023

The Spanish Pavilion at MWC Barcelona 2023which will take place between February 27 and March 2, will host 48 companies from the digital sphere and the telecommunications sector, a significant increase compared to the 35 that participated last year, and which reflects the importance of the digital and technological economy in the post-COVID scenario.

The Spanish Pavilion at the MWC has become one of the spaces with the greatest visibility and impact for companies at the annual technology and telecommunications event. Thus, in the 2022 edition, half of the attendees at MWC Barcelona visited the Spanish Pavilion.

Red.es, a public entity attached to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation through the Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, will select the companies. The call is now open, and applications can be submitted until next September 20 through its website.

An opportunity for expansion for Spanish companies

With the aim of favoring the internationalization and visibility of small and medium-sized companies in the information and communication technology sector, Red.es’ call to form part of the Spanish Pavilion is aimed at companies with up to 500 employees. Preferential criteria for those companies with up to 250 employees, who have not previously participated, are also included in the bases of the call.

The initiative presents special attractions for companies, which will be able to have visibility and business opportunities in a highly demanded and globally relevant space.

The selected companies will have, among other services, with comprehensive support, logistics, passes, and presence in the communication products of the MWC, the website of the Congress and the Spanish Pavilion and the official catalogue.

The 2023 edition of MWC Barcelona is expected to have a notable increase in the number of visitors and the economic impact, approaching the figures for the year before COVID19, when 109,000 attendees were recorded and an economic impact of 473 million euros.

With the initiative of the Spain Pavilion, which it has managed since 2006, Red.es seeks to promote business opportunities and international visibility of Spanish companies in the ICT sector and digital, in a context of acceleration of initiatives and products linked to the sector, thanks to the boost of European funds and public initiatives such as the Digital Kit, the deployment of 5G, the emphasis on the development of cybersecurity, or digitization of the Public Administration.
