Acer debuts the Ryzen 7000 in the new Nitro and Swift laptops

Acer has unveiled a trio of laptops to debut the Ryzen 7000 Mobile processors unveiled by AMD at CES. These are the Acer Nitro 16, Nitro 17 and the new Swift Go 14 model.

Like all manufacturers, Acer has deployed in Las Vegas an important renewal of its catalog, especially laptops that are being the star of the fair. If the Taiwanese brand had already presented its offer with the 13th Gen Intel Core, with the Predator series as the spearhead, it is now announcing other models under the AMD platform.

Acer Nitro 16 and Nitro 17

With gaming in mind, although it can be used for any computing task, the first model is a laptop with 16 inch screen that can mount panels with WUXGA or WQXGA resolution. It supports 100% of the sRGB color gamut and offers a 165Hz refresh rate.

Acer Nitro 16

The second model is very similar in design, but raises the screen size to 17.3 inches with panels to choose between FHD with refresh rates of 144 Hz or 165 Hz or a QHD with a refresh rate of 165 Hz.

Its hardware base is the one mentioned, with AMD’s new generation laptop processors. They are accompanied by another novelty at CES, the NVIDIA RTX Series 40 Mobile graphics cards, which work with the AMD integrated graphics card through the Advanced Optimus function. The two new Acer Nitro include up to 32 GB of DDR5 memory clocked at 4800 MHz, and up to 2 TB of storage with M.2 PCIe Gen 4 solid-state drives.

Acer Nitro 16

The refrigeration system It has been revamped with dual fans, four vents strategically placed on its sides and rear, with a top air intake, and liquid metal thermal paste to improve cooling. They are also factory-installed with NitroSense software and a NitroSense dongle, so users can monitor the temperature of their systems and easily manage equipment performance settings.

They have a 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard, a generously sized touchpad and a full range of connectivity options with an HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD card reader, USB 2.0, USB4, a USB3.2 Gen 2 Type-C display port with support for Power Delivery, and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one of which enables offline charging. They also have an Intel Killer LAN E2600G network card and is compatible with Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E. They have two speakers with DTS: X Ultra and webcam.

Acer SwiftGo 14

It is an ultralight that stands out for its thin (14.9mm) and light aluminum chassis with a weight of less than 1.3kg. mount a screen 14-inch OLED with 2.8K native resolution (2880 x 1800 pixels) with TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe certification, 500 nits peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.

Like the Acer Nitro 16 and 17, they use AMD processors Ryzen 7000 Mobile Series with integrated graphics also from AMD. To keep temperatures in check, it equips an Acer TwinAir dual-fan cooling system, dual D6 copper heat pipes, and an air-intake keyboard to ensure users remain productive for as long as they need to.

You can equip up to 16 Gbytes of LPDDR5 memory and 2 Tbytes for storage based on PCIe 4.0 SSD. Despite its ultra-slim design, the Swift Go 14 offers a full selection of ports: USB Type-C, HDMI 2.1, a MicroSD card reader, 1440p webcam, and support for the latest version of the Wi-Fi 6E standard. Its autonomy rises to 9.5 hours according to the manufacturer.
