Acer continues to strive to diversify its products, with the goal of going beyond desktop and laptop computers. This is demonstrated by its entry into the world of urban mobility, with a electric bicycle equipped with an Artificial Intelligence system. Is called ebii and it is specially designed for urban routes, and thanks to the AI that it incorporates, it is capable of learning the preferences of the rider, as well as changing gears depending on the road conditions.
This is handled by his assistant, who carries AI and is called ebiiAssist. It is the one that can “learn” the style that a person has when riding a bicycle. And learning, the feature can tweak “the output of the motor to allow effortless riding,” based on pedaling power and road conditions.
The bicycle has sober and simple lines, and weighs about 16 kilos. It has a maximum assisted speed of 25 kilometers per hour, and a range of 110 kilometers on a single charge. Its battery also fully charges in two and a half hours. Its battery can also be removed from its place on the bike, and used as a mobile charger for a laptop or smartphone.
It has its own app ebiiGo, with which you can access information on battery life, recommended routes and speed checks. It is also used as a security system, since it allows you to lock and unlock the bike.
It has an anti-theft alarm and, in addition, ebii automatically locks itself every time the smartphone with which it is associated leaves its range. Its front and rear headlights come on automatically in low light conditions, and at night. It also has LED lights under the control panel to improve its visibility.
It offers three different ways to ride: eco modefor greater energy efficiency; boost mode, to adjust the motor for a higher speed; and My ebii Mode, to achieve a balance between the two previous modes. It has a warning system in case of theft, and a system that allows the bicycle to be located at all times.
Acer ebii also carries collision detection sensors, lights in each direction, aluminum frame, intelligent vehicle control panel and airless wheels. In this way, it avoids punctures, and that the bicycle works irregularly due to having less pressure on the wheels than it should. For now, the price of the Acer ebii is unknown, and the company has not confirmed when it will go on sale.
