CES 2022. Acer Swift X is the new line of thin and light notebooks that the Taiwanese manufacturer has brought to Las Vegas. One of its models comes with a remarkable novelty, it is the first we see with Intel Arc GPUs that will mean the return of the chip giant to dedicated graphics.
Intel has focused its conference at CES on Alder Lake processors for laptops and those for desktop computers with a locked multiplier, avoiding sharing details of their next news for the graphics section. But ‘off camera’, its executives have confirmed that the launch will take place this quarter and that the chips have already been shipped to the original equipment manufacturers.
One of the receivers has been Acer and from its German division they anticipate that it will be an Arc A370M GPU. Very necessary as you know the arrival of Intel to this market segment in the face of the catastrophic situation of graphics chips.

Here we will have its premiere. They are two laptops designed to meet the specifications set by the Intel EVO platform. They offer respective sizes of 14 and 16 inches and native resolutions ranging from FHD + to 2K (2560 x 1600 pixels) of the top model. Both offer 16:10 aspect ratios in full use trend, support a brightness of 400 nits and their slim bezels allow them to offer a screen-to-body ratio of 92%.
Its thinness and lightness extends to its aluminum body, (very attractive in various color finishes) leaving its thickness at 17 mm and its weights at 1.4 and 1.79 kg. Acer claims to have beefed up its cooling system with two heat pipes, fans and a special air intake in the keyboard area.
Acer Swift X mounts the new Intel Alder Lake processors, accompanied by up to 16 Gbytes of LPDDR5 memory and PCIe Gen4 Solid State Drives up to 1Tbyte. If the 14-inch model mounts a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics (another of the CES announcements) the big news in this section comes in the 16-inch model, where the commented Intel Arc GPU is listed.
Other features speak of Wi-Fi 6E, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a full-size HDMI 2.0 port, a fingerprint reader, and a Full HD webcam. We do not have pricing or availability details.
