Windows 11 has a different user interface for touchscreen users and non-touchscreen users. If we want to enjoy the same design of the taskbar that is found in devices with a touch screen, we must perform the steps that we show you below, steps that require editing the registry, so it does not hurt to make a copy before making any changes.

But, first of all, we must download the Vivetool application from its GitHub web page. Once we have downloaded it, after decompressing the file, we access from CDM with administrator permissions and execute the following code:

vivetool /enable /id:39281392

task bar

Once installed, we restart the equipment and open the Windows registry. Once we have opened the registry from the Windows search box using the “regedit” command without the quotes, we go to the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer

In the pane to the right of this directory, right-click, select New, and then DWORD (32-bit) value.

We will call this new element TabletPostureTaskbar. Once created, we double-click on it and, in Value data, we change the 0 to 1. Finally, so that the changes we have made to the registry are shown on the computer, we must restart it.

Windows 11 hidden taskbar

To be able to activate this function, it is necessary to have version 22621.755 of Windows 11. Once we have restarted the computer, the taskbar will be displayed with the same design as computers managed by Windows 10 that have a touch screen. The operation is very similar to the Windows option that allows us to hide the taskbar when we are not using it, since it is hidden, but it shows a line that indicates that it is available if we move the mouse towards the line to appear.
