Activision Blizzard will not be part of the Game Awards 2021, but its games will

In just one week the ceremony of The Game Awards 2021 will take place, one of the most important fairs and presentations in the video game sector, and this year, in addition to promising a huge number of companies and titles present, it has also been confirmed a great absence, that of Activision Blizzard.

And it is that Geoff Keighley himself, organizer and presenter of the event, has confirmed that the presence of the developer will be limited only to its nominated games, leaving “Banned” from your direct participation in the event after the controversy that has plagued the company in recent months.

It all started with the first statements in his recent interview with The Washington Post, in which Keighley shared his personal and organizational position: «We want to support employees and developers to tell their storiesBut we don’t want companies to miss out on showing off their games. However, the reaction of the public soon resonated with force, with numerous complaints on social networks that ended up causing The Game Awards 2021 to take the decision to leave Activision Blizzard out of the gala, removing all planned presentations and talks from the program.
