The German equipment manufacturer will unveil a collection dedicated to the Guardians of the Galaxy in 2022, to mark the release of the video game dedicated to Peter Quill’s team.
South park, Xbox and Star wars, Adidas is increasing its collaborations to increase its stalls. This time, the German equipment manufacturer is teaming up with Marvel, to present a collection entirely dedicated to the Guardians of the Galaxy. It is via a press release on its blog that the house of ideas announced in mid-December this collaboration scheduled for the first half of the year 2022.
On the other hand, it is not really the characters camped on the big screen by Chris Pratt, Zoe Zeldana and Dave Bautista who are in the spotlight. Adidas was indeed inspired by their video game alter egos, which are at the heart of the title developed by Square Enix and presented on October 26th around the world. Eric Monacelli, production manager and project manager, explains:
“Early in the development of Guardians of the Galaxy, the Eidos-Montreal team had the wonderful idea of incorporating a vintage 1980s Adidas silhouette – the Forum 84 Hi – into the character design of young Peter Quill. So we started planning things with Disney and talking to Adidas ”.
The entire team
Good news if Peter Quill is not your favorite character, each member of the Guardians is in the spotlight. There are thus no less than six different models, each inspired by Gamora, Drax, Rocket Racoon, Groot, and of course Star Lord who is offered two dedicated models.
For the latter, the designers were inspired by an iconic model of the brand, to which they added the characteristic colors of the character. The Forum is therefore adorned in red to recall the jacket of the Captain of the Milano, while the Hi 84 version adopts blue and white. Drax’s signature skin is imprinted on an Ozelia, while Gamora is the subject of a special edition of the ZX 2K Boost, tinted in green and red to recall its armor.
The little Groot offers himself a foray on the side of the NMD R1 which transcribes the identity of the character with “An earthy color palette” and green and brown tones. Finally, Rocket gets a ZX 1K Boost, which is inspired by the arsenal of the raccoon (rabbit?).
In 2022 in stores
For now, these limited editions do not have an official release date. Marvel has nevertheless announced that it would be possible to obtain them during the first six months of the year 2022. There is no indication for the moment that they will be available in France. It will therefore be necessary to keep an eye open.
