Adobe’s Lightroom supports hardware-accelerated AI

NVIDIA has taken advantage of the Adobe MAX 2021 conference to present the most important news including the new NVIDIA Studio drivers that, as many of our readers will know, allow you to get the most out of the GeForce RTX 20 and RTX 30 graphics cards in professional applications. Among the most important announcements that NVIDIA has offered we can highlight the artificial intelligence support in Adobe Lightroom, accelerated by hardware through the tensor cores that are present in the GeForce RTX 20 series and RTX 30 series graphics cards. At the event, new notebooks and equipment compatible with the NVIDIA Studio ecosystem were also presented, among which we can highlight:

New features available for Adobe Lightroom and Lightroom Classic, supported by artificial intelligence, represent an important advance, and greatly improve the performance of the Adobe suite with cards thanks to NVIDIA. Among the most important novelties are:

  • Select subject, which isolates people.
  • Select sky, which captures the skies.

Both are new mask tools that take advantage of the artificial intelligence accelerated through the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 and RTX 30, and that will allow us to save a lot of time, since we will not have to create skins manually.

In this one, Jacob Norris, Principal Media Artist at NVIDIA, will explain how the playable demo “Marbles RTX” was created in less than two months, delve into how Substance 3D Painter’s functionalities were used, and show his tips for creating Hyper-realistic interactive minigames generated in real time with NVIDIA Omniverse.
