What you didn’t see from the first House of the Dragon trailer

Before talking about those details and moments that would have gone unnoticed, let’s make a brief summary of what is evident. The House of the Dragon is a spin-off of Game of Thrones and draws on ‘Fire and Blood’ by George RR Martin.

The story he will tell unfolds 200 years before the events of the series already seen and will tell the story of House Targaryen, to be more exact of King Viserys Targaryen. This will have to assume the challenge of occupying the throne left by Jaehaerys Targaryen, his grandfather, after being chosen by the lords of Westeros.

So, as you can imagine, it will not be easy or free from betrayal and other dangers to occupy the throne of that room. And some of all that is what can be seen in this short, very short first preview, if you look closely.

Religion as the central axis

During the advance the words “Gods. Kings. Fire. And blood. Dreams did not make us kings. The dragons did it.

After this imposing opening sentence, there are already some who suggest that this reference to the gods could mark the religion as the axis of the plot and why the Targaryens are where they are and believe they deserve the throne ahead of others.

Of course, because of the image where everything is seen in the dark and the statue of a dragon’s head is glimpsed (Balerion, by Aeegon the Conqueror), it could be those that define the emblem of the Targaryen house that are the protagonists in the background.

The King’s Hand brooch

Ned Stark first and later Tyrion Lannister, there is a moment where you see the brooch worn by the Hand of the King (Hand of the King). Although his face is not seen, from the following scenes and with a good part of the cast already confirmed, it is known that they will be Otto Hightower and King Viserys Targaryen.

So, like Ned Stark, these could be the two biggest characters from at least the first season of the spin-off.

Parties full of tension and violence

In another moment of the trailer you see how other characters appear at a party, it is about the Velaryon. These are various and range from Vaemond Velaryon to the children of Lord Corlys Velaryon: Laenor Velaryon, Lady Laena Velaryon and her other son.

In this party it seems that the atmosphere is not exempt from the tension that has already been seen in others during Game of Thrones, who remembers the red wedding? Well, it looks like that will end up in a sword fight and a lot of blood.

When will Fall of the Dragon premiere on HBO Max?

With no exact date confirmed, the only thing we can say for certain at this time is that House of the Dragon (The House of the Dragon) will premiere on HBO Max in 2022. It is not known if it will do it at the beginning of the year, in the middle or at the end. Only that it will be this next year when we can enjoy a series that will have ten chapters and was announced two years ago.

So, who expects the much, expects the little. Now it is just a matter of having a little more patience and preparing for what is to come. That this time we are sure that it will continue to show everything that caught us from Game of Thrones: conspiracies, abuses of power, wars, betrayals and yes, dragons too.
