What is the story behind Pokémon Legends Arceus?
Your adventure in Pokémon Legends Arceus transports you to Hisui, which is located in the famous Sinnoh region, long before Ash and his sidekicks appeared in the franchise. This is a feudal era when the world of Pokémon is still uncharted territory. Your mission ? Complete the very first Pokédex that will serve as a benchmark for future generations. For this you will have to search for all the Pokémon in the region and overcome the wildness of many of them.
What will Pokémon Arceus Legends play system be like?
You will understand, exploration is essential in Pokémon Legends Arceus. It will therefore be of an open world game, a bit like Zelda Breath of the Wild. However, this works slightly differently. Indeed, you will find several open areas and not just one gigantic world to explore. A bit like Pokémon Snap, you will find in each zone Pokémon that are specific to them and that share obvious characteristics with their environment.
You will be able to customize your own avatar and roam the lands of Hisui with the Guardians, new characters who can help you understand Pokémon while protecting them. You will also benefit from new tools which will be very useful to you during the exploration phases. Among them, the Smarceus, a still mysterious device that the developers have not brought to the table much.
To register a Pokémon in the Pokédex, you will have to defeat it, but also study it closely in order to collect as much information as possible about the creatures. As a result, you will build a solid database for the rest of your adventure. In terms of combat, these remain mainly turn-based, but can also take place directly in the open world. In addition, you can try to capture some creatures, the weaker ones, by throwing your Pokéball directly at them.
What new Pokémon will be in Pokémon Legends Arceus?
This new title has the particularity of introducing several categories of creatures, and of listing no less than 200 different Pokémon. Among them are the frames, Pokémon that will help you move faster or reach hard-to-reach areas. We will also find the category of Monarchs, a new type of special Pokémon.
In this category, we have already been able to discover one of the new creatures, which is called Chopper, a special evolution of Insecator. We also find Zorua, whose evolution is Zoroark, but also Cerbylline, evolution of Cerfrousse or even Paragrual, evolution of Bargantua. More are very likely to come, but the developers have yet to communicate about them.
