The Google Maps reviews they have more value than the recommendations that acquaintances, friends or relatives can give us about a business, according to data from the ‘Local Consumer Review Survey 2022’ report by the consulting firm specialized in digital marketing, Brightlocal. This same report also reveals that in 2021, 40% of potential customers no longer considered going to a business with a rating of less than four stars. In addition, and according to the same study, while in 2020 36% of the population was open to going to establishments with a score equal to or less than 3.5 stars, last year this percentage was only 22%.
With these data in hand, Xavier Colomes and Jordi Gil have founded the Localboss mobile application, available on both iOS and Android, with the aim that local business owners with a presence on Google Maps can know how many reviews they receive, how many they need to raise their grade, see trends and have all the tools available for ask your customers to review your business (QR, Whatsapp, social networks or email) from your mobile phone. All this, so that SMEs can play with the same advantage that large companies have when it comes to getting good scores on Google Maps.
In the same way, Localboss opens local businesses to ‘understand’ the Google algorithm, something traditionally closed to small businesses, both for the price and for the complexity of existing software. As Xavier Colomés, Founder of Localboss mentions: “Google Maps rounds the scores, which makes life easier for the user but complicates it for the merchant, since it is not the same to say that a business has a score of 4.3 on the Google interface when it really has a score of 4,252, for example” .
Localboss has also been created as a result of Colomés’ experience in large companies: “I realized that the small local companies and businesses They do not have access to the tools, data, or technology that any marketing department of a chain or corporation uses.” To all this, Colomés also adds to these factors the modesty that many owners in Spain still have of asking the satisfied customer for a review as a barrier.
In addition, according to the results of the Brightlocal report, Localboss warns that businesses that are not serious about reviews and the scores will suffer in the future.
Generate income fairly and help local businesses
With the mission of helping businesses, Colomés and Gil are offering, for a limited time, the Localboss app, totally free and for life. “Although Localboss is designed for small local businesses, we also have agencies and large chains that use it,” Colomes explains. “The idea is that these businesses end up paying to use Localboss, later allowing it to be free for those who cannot afford it”, concludes.
In this way, Localboss offers the possibility to any type of business to better understand its customers, make any necessary improvements to your servicehave better opinions and ratings and, in this way, have more customers.
