Amazon celebrates AWS re: Invent 2021 in Las Vegas again: top updates

Amazon has once again celebrated in person, but also with virtual and free access, of its event AWS re: Invent 2021 in Las Vegas, and as usual, it has served as a framework to present the main novelties of its division dedicated to the cloud. Among them is Amazon Braket Hybrid Jobs, designed to help companies efficiently deploy, monitor and execute classical and hybrid quantum algorithms. It is an extension of Amazon Braket, a fully managed AWS service that allows researchers and developers to experiment with computers from quantum hardware vendors.

With it, developers can avoid the need to have an extensive infrastructure and software management for this, since it is responsible for automating the aforementioned tasks for the management and execution of algorithms. In addition, Hybrid Jobs executes tasks instantly, monitors them, and allows you to run your algorithm using quantum hardware or simulation, as well as release sources after the task is finished. With it, developers can also define custom metrics for algorithms and, through Amazon CloudWatch, view results in near real time.

AWS has also announced Amazon CodeGuru Reviewer Secrets Detector, an automated tool to help developers detect secrets in source code or in configuration files, such as passwords, API or SSH keys, and access tokens. This allows you to ensure that the new code does not contain a secret before it is merged and deployed.

It is capable of analyzing configuration files and documentation, as well as suggesting the steps to take to secure secrets. This new feature is included as part of the CodeGuru Reviewer service at no additional cost and is compatible with the most common API providers, such as AWS, Atlassian, Datadog, Databricks, GitHub, Salesforce, Mailchimp, Hubspot, Slack, Telegram or Tableau, among others. .

Another of the announced novelties has been AWS IoT RoboRunner, with which companies can connect fleets of robots to the cloud, as well as operate different types of robots as part of the same system, and develop apps that optimize the operations of an automated fleet using real-time data from a factory or warehouse .

It is an evolution of the AWS RoboMaker robot simulation service, launched in 2018 to help robotics specialists and software engineers develop cloud applications and simulations. However, RoboRunner is intended for a different customer base: larger companies that are purchasing and operating robotic systems on a large scale.
