Amazon is not about to miss the train on Generative Artificial Intelligence. And this has been noted by its CEO, Andy Jassy, during the company’s last quarter results presentation.
So much so, that the manager of the multinational has explained that “Within Amazon, each of our teams is working on the creation of generative AI applications that reinvent and improve the experience of their customers.” In addition, Jassy has been convinced that most of the applications that are launched in this field will do so thanks to the power and flexibility provided by AWS services: “although we will build a series of these applications ourselves , the vast majority will be developed by other companies, and we are optimistic that the largest number of these will be built on Amazon Web Services.”
To make it possible, the Amazon CEO indicated that AWS already provides the infrastructure that can help customers drive Generative AI applications, also counting on a development such as AWS CodeWhisperer which helps developers speed up those processes by suggesting code snippets that they can use directly in their editors.
And how does the company want to advance in this field in its internal processes? Although he did not want to be too explicit, he did assure that there are several projects underway, ranging “from things that help us to be more profitable and rational in the way we carry out operations in various businesses to the absolute heart of each experience. that we offer: our stores, advertising business, on our devices and of course, with Alexa and also in our entertainment area. It’s going to be at the center of everything we do.”
It is more than likely that some of these projects that until now have been kept secret, will be announced on September 20, the date on which Amazon will reveal new devices and we would not be surprised if it wanted to show off the new Alexa capabilities in this terrain.
