AMD has the answer to Intel ready: its Ryzen 5800X3D CPU is dated

Intel has turned the gaming market upside down with such a forceful response and in so many price layers that AMD has previously only been able to respond by adjusting prices. But as we well know after CES 2022, the real counterattack (partial, yes) was brewing and now it already has a time limit to see it in our hands.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D: the desired one is close

In a new tweet the famous leaker greymon55 has dropped the bomb on what we can expect with this new CPU. As we can see, the delivery date is not yet fixed as such, but the processor is ready to be shipped and as such it will not take long for the hardware to reach wholesalers and retailers.

Although as we say the release date of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is not set, the leak reveals that it should hit the market later this month, which makes sense without a doubt. And it has it because AMD cannot let Intel roam so long, which since November has been reigning alone and by far against Lisa Su.

There is no release date because, according to the leaker himself, the information has been obtained by the processor’s packaging factory, so we have to wait for AMD to decide when it will launch. But why so much mystery if it is already on its way? For a simple matter of reaction time and the war for the best performance.

Time and price: the keys

There are two important factors in this play: time and price. We know that the time is near, but setting a specific day depends on the logistics of the shipments (the missteps of the Ukraine and Russia and the flights, ships (Turkey in between) and other necessities complicate everything. And also, since Intel would have the i9-12900KS ready or about to release date candy in advance can be faced with a response from the rival that dwarfs the output and date of this Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

What about the price? It is the BIG UNKNOWN, with capital letters. We know that TSMC packaging with the SRAM by way of expanding the L3 it is very expensive and it would be the main argument for not launching a CPU with more cores with 3D V Cacheat least until you see the impact on users and sales.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D performance

The latest rumors say that it could be on the 550 euros, which is just over 100 euros more (a fifth more than the price of the 5800X) and almost 70 euros less than the i9-12900K on average. If the performance is up to par and considering that the Intel processor has 8 P-Cores like AMD’s, we might think that the balance would be compensated, although Intel will continue to win in multi-core.

This fact does not seem to matter too much to AMD because it has always considered the mainstream range as CPUs for gaming, so it seems that they will focus on competing in this aspect and not so much on multi-core performance for tasks such as editing, rendering and others. What seems clear is that we are very close to the date of presentation of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.
