AMD lowers the price of the Ryzen 5000 to clean stock

The arrival of the Ryzen 7000, and the launch of the Intel Core Gen13, has generated significant competition in the general consumer CPU sector, a reality that in the end has led AMD to lower the price of the Ryzen 5000although it has not done so equally in all markets, and we can safely say that the most favored market in this regard has been the United States.

On the official website of AMD in the United States we can see that the price of the Ryzen 5000 has dropped by up to 250 dollars, depending on the model we want to buy. The discounts that AMD has applied are enormous, and this has made the Ryzen 5000 become a very interesting option due to its good price-performance value, and also because the cost of its platform is clearly lower than that of the current generation.

Let’s see the price of the Ryzen 5000, before and after of those discounts that AMD has applied, to better understand why we say that they have become very interesting options.

  • Ryzen 9 5950X: It was $799, and has dropped to $549.
  • Ryzen 9 5900X: It was priced at $549, and now it’s $349.
  • Ryzen 7 5800X3D: was priced at $449, now it can be purchased for $329.

It is important that you bear in mind that prices in the United States do not include taxes, although it is true that even with this in mind the prices of the Ryzen 5000 are very “appetizing”. If we look at the Spanish market we see that there have also been more or less interesting discounts:

  • Ryzen 9 5950X: reduced to 647.5 euros.
  • Ryzen 9 5900X: on offer for 435 euros.
  • Ryzen 7 5800X3D: It is priced at 496.52 euros.
  • Ryzen 7 5800X: it has dropped to 295 euros.
  • Ryzen 7 5700X: it is on sale for 274.9 euros.
  • Ryzen 5 5600X: It costs 199.89 euros.
  • Ryzen 5 5600: available for 154.89 euros.
  • Ryzen 5 5500: reduced to 105 euros.

It is curious that the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is more expensive than the Ryzen 9 5900X, since the former has 8 cores and 16 threads and the latter 12 cores and 24 threads. There is no doubt that the Ryzen 7 5800X3D perform better in games thanks to its 3D cache, but the Ryzen 9 5900X is a more versatile and more powerful processor It serves both to play and to work.

For only 105 euros, the Ryzen 5 5500 is a very interesting option, especially for give a second life to a team based on the AM4 platform or to build a cheap but powerful PC. It has 6 cores and 12 threads and uses the Zen 3 architecture, but it has only 16 MB of L3 cache, so it performs less than the Ryzen 5 5600.

With the prices we have right now in the sector, and with the recent drop experienced by the Ryzen 5000, there is no doubt that they are an option to take into account. However, it is important that you bear in mind that there is a possibility that prices will fall even more when Intel Core Gen13 multiplier-locked series (non-K series) are released.
