Part of the Ryzen 5000 family, the 5600 X is the most affordable model, aimed primarily at people who want to play. It is a 6-core, 12-thread processor, with a clock rate of up to 4.6 GHz. In our opinion, this is one of the best value for money for video games at the moment, but also for classic use. It will be able to run the most demanding software without problem, including 3D montages and large computing sessions.
It is also the only model of the new Ryzen to be accompanied by a cooling system (fan) directly in the box. If you do not plan to overclock your processor, and limit yourself to traditional use, this has the merit of saving you a few dozen euros extra. It is compatible with all AMD X570 and B550 motherboards with AM4 socket. For the site compared to its competitor, the 5600 X is the better equivalent of the Intel Core i5-11600k.
Of course, it doesn’t perform as well as the Ryzen 7 5800 and Ryzen 9 5900, either in video games and especially in processing applications like editing or streaming. It remains nevertheless an excellent choice for video games, a better quality-price ratio, and has the merit of consuming much less (TDP of 65 W against 105 W for its big brothers).
