ANPD selects experts to define the profession of data officer

The ANPD (National Data Protection Authority) receives contributions to help define the norms that govern the profession of data controller. The government organization will take contributions through technical meetings, restricted to invited guests, to discuss the role of the person in charge of the processing of personal data. The guests would be experts interested in the topic.

Those interested in participating in the technical meetings will be able to register from March 18 to 28, 2022, through the registration form available. online. Twenty experts will be selected to answer questions previously established by the organization.

The purpose of the meetings is to hold a grant-taking restricted to selected guests. The intention is that external experts can contribute to the process of regulating the rule on the person in charge, under the terms of the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data (LGPD).

ANPD meetings and selection criteria

The meetings will take place on April 5-7, 2022 and will be available later on the organization’s YouTube channel. It will not be necessary to register for those who just want to attend the meetings.

It is expected that the participation of different sectors of society, together with the studies conducted by the ANPD’s technical team, will contribute to the preparation of the Regulatory Impact Analysis (AIR) report and the draft regulation to be prepared by the Authority.

Social participation is open to the general public. To participate, it is necessary to register by filling in the form. When filling out the form, the interested party may select more than one thematic block option. However, the candidate will only be selected for participation in a single block.

The selection of interested parties will observe the following criteria:

  • Diversity of representation from different sectors of society (civil society entities, business sector, public sector, scientific community, among others);
  • Gender diversity by technical meeting block;
  • Diversity of participants from different regions of the country;
  • Participation restricted to one representative per organization;
  • Academic and complementary training in the area of ​​personal data protection and related areas; and
  • Professional or academic experience in personal data protection.

Technical meetings will take place virtually, through videoconferencing, restricted to selected guests. Subsequently, the recordings will be available on the ANPD YouTube channel.
