The apple giant has introduced Apple Business Essentials, a new service aimed at companies with up to 500 employees that will help them to simplify the management of different devices, and that, as you may have imagined, works under the subscription model.
Apple Business Essentials is, at its core, very simple, but represents an interesting value, since it will allow us to simplify the management of multiple devices, thus freeing the IT staff from an important workload, we will be able to configure various settings and make modifications in applications for both specific users and specific workgroups, we will enjoy security functions such as “Activation Lock”, which will help us protect the data stored on stolen devices, and “File Vault”, which offers complete encryption, and we will have cloud storage via iCloud, which will allow us to make backup copies.
For now, Apple Business Essentials is only available in the United States, and it works through an application that is currently in free beta. Once it leaves the beta phase, something that, if everything goes according to plan, will happen in the spring of 2022, the apple company will offer different plans that will have a starting price of $ 2.99 per month per device. The more devices we want to subscribe, the higher the total cost we will have to face.
The more advanced plans will allow us to add several devices, and enjoy up to 2 TB of iCloud storage. The cost of those higher plans in Apple Business Essentials will be $ 12.99 per month.
We have been able to confirm that in Apple Business Essentials we can also add “AppleCare + for Business Essentials”, something highly recommended to protect those devices and equipment in which we have made a significant investment. We do not have details about its possible launch date in Spain, but considering the growing importance of services in Apple’s business unit, I think it will only be a matter of time until it is available in our country.
