Apple introduces its new desktop operating system, macOS 13 Ventura

Apple has presented MacOS 13 Ventura in the opening keynote of the WWDC 2022 developer conference. The new desktop operating system it will be the one installed on new Macs like the ones announced at the developer conference and will also be offered as a free upgrade for older compatible PCs. Currently in beta phase, the final version is expected next fall.

Although iOS has become the star of this conference (as Apple has been selling more and more mobiles) those from Cupertino do not forget their essences and the presentation of the new development for Mac computers has not disappointed. As with the latest versions of Windows, we do not see anything revolutionary, but we do many improvements for the interface, applications, security or an integration with iOS that has already been perceived in recent years.

macOS 13 Ventura, news

«Anything you do on your Mac is so much better with macOS Ventura«, assures Apple in the presentation of a development that has many new features on all fronts, as you will see in the following summary:

spot light. Searches are now more complete and show you all kinds of information about contacts, albums, artists, movies, series, etc. If you press the space bar on a file, it will open with Quick Look in a large format that you can scroll through. Spotlight lets you search your Photos, Messages, Notes, the Finder, or the entire Internet. With Live Text you can even search for an image by the words that appear on it.

Messages. Apple has renewed the instant messaging application with new features such as editing the message you just sent or directly undoing the sending. And if when they write to you it is not convenient for you to answer, mark the message as unread and answer later. The app also offers new ways to collaborate, sharing notes, presentations, reminders or groups of Safari browser tabs.

Photos. Another of the revamped apps now comes with a shared iCloud Photo Library for photo and video content from up to five people. You can choose what to include in the Shared Photo Library based on the date or who is in the photos. Once set up, you can manually add images or get smart suggestions to add from For You in the sidebar. The whole family has the same permissions to add, edit, and delete photos in the shared library, and syncing is automatic.

visual organizer. For the user interface, Apple has prepared an organizer that brings together the apps and the windows in a single view so that you can concentrate on your tasks and move from one to another with a simple mouse touch. It also allows you to create groups of apps for certain tasks or projects, and organize them, change their size or place them wherever the user wants.

System settings. Another sign of iOS integration is the new System Settings sidebar design that closely resembles the iPhone and iPad.

continuity chamber. Bring an iPhone close to a Mac and it will start receiving the image from the camera. It works wirelessly so you don’t need to connect anything. It has features such as ‘focused framing, ‘study light’, ‘Portrait mode’ or ‘Cenital view’. Simply a high performance webcam using the mobile.
