This new version comes with interesting news and supposes, as we already told you at the time, the end of life cycle for iPhone 6s-6s Plus and iPhone 7-iPhone 7ssince none of these terminals will be able to update to iOS 16.
As we already told you when the official presentation of iOS 16 took place, it seems that the end of support for these terminals is mainly due to the absence in both of a neural processing unit. A look at the most important news of iOS 16
When Apple introduced that operating system, it surprised us by announcing a new lock screen with numerous customization options, among which the possibility of changing the color, fonts and filters stand out.
Apple has also introduced a new notification system that are better suited to that new lock screen, and that they rotate in an overlapping fashion instead of stacking vertically in staggered fashion. We can view them at the bottom of the screen and monitor live activities.
We also have other customization improvements that will allow us to create stickers using photos without a background. We will only have to drag them to a conversation so that they become stickers, and we will be able to create wallpapers with emojis in mosaics or with the weather.
One of the most anticipated and most interesting improvements we have in iMessage, and that is that with iOS 16 it is finally possible andEdit messages that we have already sent and cancel them using the “undo” option, as long as we meet the established time requirements, which are 15 minutes to edit a message and 2 minutes to cancel it, counting from the moment it is sent.
And speaking of messages, with iOS 16 we can also recover those that we have deleted up to a maximum of 30 days after their deletionwe can mark a read message as unread if we don’t have time to answer it, and we can filter messages on dual SIM devices.
Mail is another of the applications that has received improvements with iOS 16. Among the most interesting are the smart search fixeswhich helps us correct spelling errors and use synonyms, the option to cancel the delivery we just made before the mail reaches its recipient, schedule delivery and the use of enriched links.
Apple has not forgotten Safari, the well-known browser from the apple company, which now comes with new functions that improve the user experiencesuch as pinned tabs, synchronization of extensions and website settings, translation of images on web pages, and new languages.
Other interesting improvements worth noting are the new security features that protect against phishing, leaks and logins on other devices, new languages for live text, the multi-stop routes on Mapstracking, medication reminders and menstrual cycle change notifications in the Health app, privacy enhancements, the ability to remove duplicate photos, the ability to use Face ID in landscape and improvements in photo editing.
The list of news that iOS 16 brings it’s huge. In this article I have shared with you some of the most interesting, but if you want to discover them I invite you all to take a look at this link, which will take you to the official Apple website.
How to download and install iOS 16
The process is very simple, we just have to enter “Settings > General > Software Update”. Once there, the system will automatically search for available updates, and we will only have to follow the automated installation process.
Remember that this may take a few minutes and that it cannot be interrupted, so avoid updating if you are not going to be able to do without your smartphone for a while. Once the installation process is complete, we will arrive at the iOS 16 home screen to enter the SIM card password and PIN.
