Apple Music and Apple TV will have a native application for Windows

If reading this headline gave you goosebumps, that you know that we militate in the same team. For some years now, Apple has had an increasingly clear strategy around services and, today, everything indicates that the growth trend in this business area will be sustained, at least in the short and medium term. Not surprisingly, we told you some time ago that in Cupertino they welcome something similar to a iPhone as a service.

But before making the leap to the “subscription” to devices (which is gaining more and more traction among individuals in the motor market) let’s return to digital services, those for which many technology companies have opted and which, at present, They are already part of the daily life of many people.. And in this field, Apple has been betting heavily for some time with Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness and iCloud+, to which Apple News+ is added in certain geographies, a set of services that brand users can hire separately , or with Apple One plans.

Since we are talking about Apple services, it makes sense that the company has focused, from the beginning, on providing the best experience of using them on iPhones, iPads, Mac Books, etc., that is, on all devices of the brand. And it is that, for years, they have grown exclusively in the shadow of the Apple ecosystem. However, at this point it is convenient to make two groups: one formed by Apple Music and Apple TV +, and a second in which we find Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness and iCloud +. The difference between the two is that the second group has exclusive functions for Apple devices, but this is not the case with the first.

Apple Music and Apple TV will have a native application for Windows

However, despite this, both services do not have applications to access them from Windows. And although it may seem like a minor detail, Anyone who has tried to use Apple Music and Apple TV+ on Windows can tell you otherwise.either through its web interfaces (with reasonable operation but a bit “guzzler” when it comes to system resources) or, especially, through the insufferable iTunes (I will never understand that in the middle of the first decade of the century it worked so well in Windows, and now, however, sometimes resembles a toothache)

And the good news is that, during the presentation event of the new generation of Surface devices, Microsoft has announced that Apple Music and Apple TV will have native applications for Windowswhich will be published next year. In addition, and while waiting for these final versions, Microsoft has also stated that preliminary versions of them can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store before the end of the year.
