Apple Music Live kicks off its second season with Ed Sheeran

It’s been a year since the announcement of Apple Music Live, a series of concerts exclusive to the platform and that can be seen live during their celebration, and that are also later uploaded to the platform so that their users can listen to them whenever they want. This is undoubtedly an excellent way to improve the image of a service that is already valued highly by many of its users, and also to attract followers of the artists who give these concerts.

that first season It started with a Harry Styles concertand subsequently aired first-name performances such as Billie Eilish, Alicia Keys, Wizkid, Lil Durk and more. Recordings of many of these concerts can also be found in spatial audio format, and the concerts are complemented by exclusive interviews with the artists. For lovers of the sound of live music, although this is not the same as physically going to a concert, it does represent a great point of added value for Apple Music.

I said it then, and I’ll say it now: while Spotify seems to have put the spotlight on podcasts (which seems totally legitimate to me, of course), Apple Music concentrates the vast majority of its news in terms of music, which allows the Cupertino platform to stand out more and more in this regard. The latest example of this can be found, as you can imagine, in Apple Music Classical, the long-awaited app dedicated exclusively to classical, and which comes in fulfillment of the promise given by Apple after the acquisition of Primephonic.

For the debut of the second season of Apple Music Live, Ed Sheeran will perform, for the first time live, the songs that make up his new album, – (pronounced “subtract”), in an intimate performance, very much in line with the new album, and in which he will have a band of twelve musicians that includes Aaron Dessner, from the exceptional The National (if not the You know, I highly recommend his live version of Bruce Springsteen’s Mansion on the Hill, it’s hypnotic).
