Apple patents a new case for AirPods with an interactive screen

AirPods case patent

From the first Airpods case to this new and patented concept by Apple, quite a few years have passed. Taking into account that the first case was only to charge the headphones and as long as it was plugged into the current, up to this idea of an interactive case, we have the middle ground that is a case that charges wirelessly. I sincerely believe that in the middle is virtue. Now we will see the patent. I would turn AirPods into a standalone device. Something interesting.

AirPods have evolved a lot since their inception. We have as a base headphones without any function, with a very elegant and long design and not bad audio quality for wireless headphones. The evolution has been exponential. Taking into account that the AirPods Pro and the second version, with noise cancellation and touch controls, have come to the fore, which are not Pro, They have also achieved their evolution.

The covers, in the same way, have also improved. Although the concept remains the same, that of charging the headphones, the improvement has been notable considering the battery life and its shape, much more comfortable and also now with wireless charging. But what Apple wants is to go a little further and give a twist. For that, you want the case to be interactive with touch controls. Making headphones become a device that don’t need the iPhone or Apple Watch.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted Apple a patent for an AirPods charging case, where the front of the case would have a touch screen similar to that of an Apple Watch. According to the patent description and images, the screen integrated into the case would offer multimedia controls and even basic applications such as Maps, Weather and notifications.

Also according to the patent, users could switch between applications using Siri commands. One of the images even shows the ability to transfer a song from AirPods to a HomePod using Handoff.
