2022 promises to be a very intense year for Apple in terms of launching new devices. As we told you a few weeks ago, October promises to come well loaded with new devices, and if that prediction comes true, we would find four new iPhones, a low-end MacBook Pro, an updated iMac, the new Mac Pro, a MacBook Renewed Air, an update to the AirPods Pro, three Apple Watches, a lower-end iPad, and new iPad Pros.
Does this mean that Apple is going to reserve all of its 2022 releases for those months? A presentation that everything indicates that it will be the launch of the long-awaited renewal of the iPhone SE, the cheapest version of the company’s smartphone.
Although there have been contradictory rumors over the past few months, It is most likely that the iPhone SE will finally make the leap to 5G. And it is that it would be quite difficult to justify that its third iteration remained in the previous generation of cellular connectivity, even more so when it is already possible to find smartphones of around 200 euros that do offer access to 5G. We are talking about Apple, everything is possible, but personally I think it would be a mistake.
As for its design, more and more voices suggest that it maintain the current one or there will be a change, what we will not see in it is a notch, and that is that its front would maintain the classic design, with the Home button and with biometric identification through Touch ID on that button. The rumors that pointed to the jump to Face ID have been fading considerably in recent weeks, to the point that it seems directly ruled out.
We also look forward to the presentation of a new iPad Air. We are not talking, at least in principle, about a big change, but about an improvement in its technical specifications, among which I would highlight the inclusion of 5G connectivity in the WiFi + Cellular version of the Apple tablet. We already told you a few weeks ago that we expected the presentation of this renewal for spring, so it fits in with the event forecast for early March.
On the other hand, when there was talk of the rebirth of the iMac Pro, it was signed up for its presentation at the beginning of the year. However, now it does not seem to be so clear, and the majority theory points to the second half of 2022 for its announcement and arrival on the market. However, we cannot completely rule out that Apple surprises us by presenting it next month.
