Apple Releases Band and Watch Face for Apple Watch to Celebrate Black History Month

Apple is once again celebrating Black History Month. And especially in honor of this, the company decided to please all the owners and fans of their branded watches with something pleasant. The thing is, the tech giant has released a special $99 Black Unity Braided Solo Loop version of its watch strap, which has the colors of the Pan-African flag woven into an elastic black band. It is also worth noting that for this strap there is a very harmonious addition in the face of the free Unity Lights watch face, which perfectly matches the design of the Black Unity Braided Solo Loop.

This watch face can be downloaded by anyone using their iPhone in order to demonstrate support for Black History Month. Not to mention, this is reportedly the first watch face of its kind to use “2D ray tracing” to simulate light, creating an unusually distinctive aura around the minute and hour hands. Anyway, it’s important to clarify that this year there won’t be any special Apple Watch model dedicated to this date.

Last year, as it should be recalled, the company released a version of the watch with a standard gray aluminum frame and a regular strap included. And in general, it is not at all surprising that this year the corporation decided not to release a special version of its watches, because for now it wants to make money on additional accessories for its watches, and not on them themselves, because the latter are selling extremely well . Anyway, this is not all that the above-named tech firm is doing in honor of Black History Month. Apple, if you’re not aware, also curates black content on its services, and it will do so until February.

We are talking, among other things, about the materials that she creates directly for fitness enthusiasts. Fitness+ will therefore feature new Black History Month workouts with additional soundtracks, a special Time to Walk episode co-recorded with Black Lives Matter co-founder Ayo Tomechi, and a Time to Run episode featuring “civil rights landmarks » in Atlanta. And by the way, whether you’re a subscriber or not, Apple Watch owners can earn a Unity Challenge by completing a Move ring seven days in a row.
