Apple still offers record profits in 2022

Apple has released the results for its first fiscal quarter of 2022, and unsurprisingly, the numbers are dizzying.

After Samsung or Microsoft, it is the giant Apple’s turn to formalize the results of its first fiscal quarter of 2022which correspond to Apple’s activity during the fourth calendar quarter of 2021. Unsurprisingly, the company also posted record numbers, with revenue of $ 123.9 billion, for a net profit of $34.6 billion over the last quarter.

If the growth of Apple is not doing as well as Microsoft, which has seen its profits explode thanks to the cloud with up to 54% increase in its activities, it does not have to be ashamed. By comparison, Apple had revenue of $111.4 billion last year, including a net profit of $28.8 billion. That’s a 20% increase.

The shortage does not affect the Apple

Despite global shortages of semiconductors, which have affected the entire electronics market, Apple remains confident. Although the situation is likely to cause some supply problems in the coming quarters, the brand has made record sales on its iPhones, Macs, connected wearables, as well as on its online services. A consecration for Tim Cook, the company’s CEO, who said: “We are thrilled to see the response from customers around the world at a time when staying connected has never been more important.”

Zero carbon goal in 2022

For 2022, Apple’s ambition will therefore be to consolidate its presence on the market, while “helping to build a better world”, promises Tim Cook. In particular, the company hopes to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, both in its supply chain and in its products. It also confirmed many actions “in the area of education and racial equity and justice”. It remains to be seen whether it will also take things in May concerning the fairness of its own App Store, regularly accused of favoring its own services over the competition, while imposing a heavy commission on developers for each in-app purchase.
