Like Qualcomm, Foxconn is confident

If TSMC is the company responsible for the manufacture of custom-designed chips by Apple, the Apple brand also calls on other companies to source electronic chips, used in particular in energy management. And justly, the lack of power management chips are the components that most affect Apple’s manufacturing capabilities.

On this subject, Foxconn confirms that these chips are still available in insufficient quantities. The company is not alone in being enthusiastic about an improvement in the situation. Indeed, Qualcomm has also announced that the shortage of components will end in 2022. However, we must put into perspective the announcement of Qualcomm, which may have sought to reassure its investors after the launch of its latest processor, the Snapdragon. 8 Gen 1.

According to a survey conducted by the US Department of Commerce published on January 25, 2022, the difficulties linked to the shortage are not about to improve over the next six months. The only solution in the eyes of the various stakeholders interviewed is to build new factories to increase production capacity. Samsung intends to settle in Texas, while Global Foundries will build a production site in New York. For its part, Intel has announced the upcoming opening of a new factory in Ohio.
