Apple TV + app now available for 2016 and 2017 LG TVs

To try to reach as many users as possible, the Cupertino-based company offers the Apple TV app on all existing platforms, including smart TVs, consoles, and third-party streaming devices like the Amazon Fire Stick or Roku streaming sticks.

Apple has begun to distribute a new application called Apple TV + in the older LG smart tv models managed by webOS, specifically in the models launched between 2016 and 2017. But as I have said, it is the Apple TV + application not the Apple TV application.

Although the name and logo are different, the experience of using the app is identical to the TV app – except that you can only watch TV + content. The View Now and iTunes Store tabs are not available.

In this way, the application it only has three tabs in the top navigation: Apple TV +, Search and Settings. It also means that the functionality. The application is available through the official LG store.

Ideally, Apple would launch an application that only allow access to Apple TV + and not also to the iTunes Store, so that users could focus solely on the content available on Apple’s streaming platform.

However, because the content available on Apple TV + sstill being very smallDespite having grown in the two years that it has been in operation, it is logical that Apple tries to fill the application with the offer available to buy or rent through the iTunes Store.

For the smart TV models that LG launched from 2018, the Apple TV application is available in the LG application store, an application that offers access to the same content as in the version for iOS, iPadOS, tvOS and macOS.
