Apple will launch the iPad Pro with an OLED screen in 2024, and it will use an M3 SoC

New information suggests that the new iPad Pro will not arrive at the end of this year, as previous information indicated, but will go directly to 2024. An exact launch date is not specified, but most likely, seeing the time frame in the that the 2022 model was located, is that Apple decides to launch it in the second half of that year.

The 2024 iPad Pro will have important news in its hardware specificationsAlthough no relevant changes are expected either in its design or in its construction quality, which should be practically identical to those of the current model. The brain of the new iPad Pro will be Apple’s new M3 SoC, a chip that should launch a new architecture and that will use TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing node, as long as the information we have seen previously is met.

Another of the most important changes that the 2024 iPad Pro will bring will be the jump to an OLED-type screen. The current model uses an IPS-type panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, so the improvement it would offer in this regard would be considerable. It is important to remember that OLED screens allow you to create lighter and thinner devices, and that they have a lower energy consumption, since they turn off pixels individually to generate the black color.

Except for surprise, Apple should repeat formats and sizes, which means that we will see two different versions, one of 10.86 inches and another of 12.9 inches. The configuration of RAM and storage capacity has not been revealed yet, but most likely we will find ourselves again with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage capacity in the base models, and with 16 GB of RAM and 2 TB max.

The price has not been revealed either, but we can assume that using an OLED panel will end up increasing production costs, and therefore these new iPad Pro they will be more expensive than the 2022 models.
