AppleCare + adds coverage for theft, damage and loss in Spain and other countries


When we buy a new device from Apple, we are asked if we want to add AppleCare+ to the purchase. The service that provides us with technical, software and repair assistance in one place and carried out by specialists in the field. It has an extra cost depending on the device we buy. Many times we do not choose this option, because it is a recurring payment and because we think that we will never need it until something really happens to us. Now the decision to say “no” to your purchase will become more difficult because They have added coverage for damage, theft and loss.

One of the reasons why we don’t buy AppleCare+ when we buy a new terminal is because we think that being careful, nothing has to happen. Also, if something happens to the software for two years, it will have to be Apple who fixes it. If you push me, in this case, we’re going beyond those two years. But we never think about whether the terminal is damaged, stolen or lost, it is something that we do not contemplate as a base. But now, we will have to take it into accountbecause these situations will be covered by AppleCare+.

Apple has just announced that coverage of theft, loss and damage has been extended to other countries and among them is Spain. With this, there are now eight countries that receive this coverage from the American company. In total, the countries that have this coverage are:

  • Australia
  • France
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • Japan
  • United Kingdom

Now, we have to take into account a series of requirements:

Using this coverage requires using the Find My app, or, to mark the device as lost. Apple says the terminal is missing should not be removed from the users Find My account until the claim has been fully approved.
