Arsys creates an innovation laboratory to boost the R&D area

The cloud service provider Arsys has launched Arsys Lab, a new department within the company’s Product Development area, headed by Miguel Martínez Vélez. This new department will study the incorporation of new solutions or functionalities to the Arsys service portfolio, developing pilot projects and prototypes that allow the company to anticipate customer needs and accelerate the adoption of the latest technological developments and market trends, and It will coordinate collaborations with public entities, other companies and universities in matters of R&D&i and scientific-technical dissemination.

Led by Sara Madariaga and with a participatory structure involving 26 company professionals, Arsys Lab channels the innovation effort that is carried out from all areas of Arsys, where each department can launch its own R+ projects D+i.

Among the more than one hundred innovation projects in which Arsys is working this year, it is worth highlighting the European Gaia-X project. Arsys is a promoter member of its national hub, the Gaia-X Spain Association, which aims to promote the data economy among companies, integrating the European values ​​of security and privacy protection, and especially promoting the adoption of these technologies in strategic sectors, such as tourism and health.

In addition, Arsys Lab is currently developing innovation projects related to cloud infrastructure services, business continuity and disaster recovery (DRP) solutions, blockchain, Deep Learning and the Internet of Things (IoT), among others.

“Our experience and specialization have consolidated us as the reference provider in Spain in cloud infrastructure services. In our more than 25 years in the market, we have not stopped innovating to make the use of ICTs easier or more profitable, continuously improving our solutions in aspects that are increasingly valued in the business sector, and incorporating key features such as security , ease of use or sustainability”, explains Miguel Martinez Velez Product Director of Arsys.

For the head of Arsys Lab, Sara Madariaga, “in Arsys, innovation is born in each of the company’s areas and departments, which can develop their own R&D&i projects on their own. As an innovation laboratory, we stimulate this innovative character within the organization because we understand that R&D&I is a participatory, open and collaborative process that has its origin and end in the client, in the services that they use in their business”.

Almost a hundred of the more than 400 Arsys employees work in the Product Development and Innovation areas of the company, which allocates a third of its resources to the continuous improvement of its solutions.
