Arya did not like the ending that HBO gave to Game of Thrones

Our beloved Arya Stark, or rather, the actress in charge of bringing her to life, Maisie Williamshas recently spoken on a podcast in which he has confessed what he thought of the closure of the series that has given him so much popularity.

A drop in quality

Williams has not beaten around the bush when it comes to talking about the end of game of thrones. Possibly, as it has been a long time since the last chapter was broadcast on the platform hbo max, the actress has felt more comfortable and confident to be able to give her opinion. In addition, the place to do it has been none other than the podcast of her own brother, James Williams, who invited Maisie to a live streaming on Twitch.

At one point in the conversation, the person responsible for playing Arya for 8 seasons (or what amounts to the same thing, 10 years of her life) confesses that after having had time to see everything, especially the season finale -which during filming it was impossible for her-, she has finally been able to put herself in the place of a spectator and fan of the saga and who, taking this into account, feels that the series «definitely fell in the end» although it started very strong. She also acknowledges that she was left heartbroken when the season one finale Ned dies.

Maisie would therefore place herself on the side of those who put their hands to their heads with the ending and who never understood how those responsible could give it such an outcome.

A debate turned off by The House of the Dragon

If it weren’t for the premiere of The House of the Dragonpossibly we would still be talking about the end of Game of Thrones. It is what it has to be one of the most famous literary sagas of all time and have an angry legion of fans behind it. As you well know, its writer has not yet finished the story in the books, so from season 6 onwards, those responsible for the show had to figure it out and tell things his way.

George R.R. Martin

It is said that George RR Martin left some brushstrokes or key points written about how he has the ending in mind, but that does not necessarily mean that he was followed in the HBO series. In fact, one of the big questions many are asking is whether Martin even could have dared to modify its outcome in the books in view of how little it liked on the screen.

Be that as it may, the good reviews received by House of Dragons They have helped to distract the staff a bit and help the debate to be diluted and forgotten… until Arya’s confession, of course.
