ASRock prepares new mini PCs with Intel Raptor Lake and Ryzen 7000

Thanks to a leak, we have been able to confirm that ASRock is working on a renewal of its DeskMini and DeskMeet mini PCs, two computers that are designed to integrate seamlessly into professional spaces and that will make the leap to the new Intel and AMD processors. the Raptor Lake-S and Ryzen 7000 series.

The information we have does not yet capture all the details, but we are clear about some things that are important. On the one hand, the ASRock models that will use the new Raptor Lake-S will come with a motherboard with chipset B760and models compatible with Ryzen 7000 will have motherboards with X600 chipset.

Most likely, ASRock will keep the measurements of the current equipment, which means that the DeskMini will remain the most compact (they measure 155 x 155 x 80mm), and that DeskMeets will be bigger but also more powerful (they measure 236 x 222 x 168mm). The first will be compatible with CPUs with a TDP of up to 65 watts and will not allow mounting a dedicated graphics card, and the second will support processors with a higher TDP and will allow mounting a dedicated graphics card, as long as it does not exceed specific measurements:

  • Double width groove.
  • Up to 20 cm long.

We do not have details about which CPUs these new devices will offer, but it is clear that the most powerful models with the highest number of cores and threads they will be limited to ASRock’s DeskMeet model. In the cover image you can see both models, the largest is the DeskMeet, and the smallest is the DeskMini.

For professionals who don’t need a lot of power nor a dedicated graphics card, the DeskMini will be an option to take into account, while for those who need more performance and are going to use a GPU, the DeskMeet will be the best option.
