Last July we heard for the first time the name Assassin’s Creed Infinity, an open-world, living-environment online game that would evolve over time and the actions of the players, and undoubtedly the biggest bet of Ubisoft within this series of games.
And it is that although it is worth mentioning that the company is still working in an early development phase for this game, they have not been long in coming out the first leaks and official confirmations, which frame us a little more the course of the game.
Unlike the rest of its games with a single narrative story, Assassin’s Creed Infinity will have multiple settings that will feel and look different from each other, but will still be connected in some way. So, instead of playing mainly only in a historical period, we would have a base scenario from which we could join other players in “multiple scenarios”, which would grow and evolve over time.
In fact, already during the first leak, Bloomberg itself anticipated the possibility of «A massive online service«, Speculating that this game could come under a subscription model instead of a one-time payment. Something that has been partially confirmed now, with the statements of Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft during the latest earnings presentation of the developer, who assured that Assassin’s Creed Infinity will not be a free online game, or what is the same, it will not have a Free-to-play model.
However, this was not the only novelty offered by Guillemot, who once again emphasized the little advanced state of the game, confirming that development is still in its early stages, repeating that its earlier release, in case not there are additional delays, it won’t happen before 2024.
And is that for the moment not even his name is 100% confirmed, the name of the game being able to change for its launch. However, although this title and its distant release date could lead to some memes and jokes like those that Duke Nukem Forever received, at least on a personal level, it certainly seems to me a most successful and attractive name given the nature of the game. .
