The new version of Asuswrt-Merlin firmware has been released today, and it has two very important new features. Now we have support for the popular router ASUS RT-AC68U but in its hardware version V4, that is to say, the model that is currently sold is the ASUS RT-AC68U V4, therefore, any user who buys this router that has been with us for so many years and that is still really good, will be able to install this firmware to have endless features and possibilities. Another very important novelty is that we have compatibility with router ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000we must take into account that this router is from the ROG range of the manufacturer, therefore, the default firmware is the Asuswrt ROG with a graphical user interface with red colors, however, the Asuswrt-Merlin firmware for this model has the same look as the “normal” Asuswrt, so if you didn’t like the red color of the interface you’re in luck.
Another important feature for the GT routers that belong to the ROG Rapture range is that we now have a configuration option that allows us to change the behavior of the «Boost» button. We must remember that the default firmware allows us to configure this button to perform various functions, since now we also have the possibility to configure it in the new firmware. Of course, the configuration menu for this option is in the “Administration / System” section as usual.
Other changes that have been introduced in this new version of the Asuswrt-Merlin firmware is TQoS support for IPv6 networks, all internal firmware packages such as miniupnp and avahi have been updated, the traditional QoS of the router has also been improved, we can see the status of the DFS channels in the two 5GHz bands simultaneously if our router is triple band and other news. The developer has taken the opportunity to solve some bugs that existed before, such as those related to OpenVPN, WAN monitoring if we use IPv6 and AiProtection Pro in the RT-AX68U and RT-AX86U models that did not work correctly.
