There are games that we never get to have completely within our radar due to countless circumstances. And one of them is that we have not been able to test it before because the platform on which it is available is completely alien to us. And that could be the case, perfectly, of ATONE Heart of the Elder Tree which can only be enjoyed through Apple Arcade on iPhone, iPad or Mac devices.

ATONE Heart of the Elder Tree It is a title that, as we have told you, is available right now only on Apple Arcade so if you do not have one of those devices you will not be able to enjoy it. Now, the big news that has changed in the last few hours is that its developer, Wildboy Studios, has announced the arrival of his little masterpiece on new platforms.
And it is that one of the things that those of us who flee (from time to time) from the omnivorous power of the AAA in this of video games, are original ideas, at least special ones, that deviate from fashion and bet on different proposals. This is the case of this title that takes a good part of that Nordic mythology that is so fashionable and transforms it into an adventure where two very specific elements shine: the puzzles and the combat system.
But before explaining how to play it, we are going to remind you that ATONE Heart of the Elder Tree It will also come to PC, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on January 27, 2023, in a first step for being present in practically any known video game system (except Xbox, for now).
Solve puzzles and fight…with rhythm
Pretty much that’s the summary of this ATONE Heart of the Elder Tree that advocates three main pillars. On the one hand, its graphic appearance, which enters our eyes due to that schematism that seems to inherit an appearance that combines the simplicity of the old Atari 2600 games -in many of its tests-, with a really attractive and modern design full of elongated shapes and flat colors. On top of that, it is capable of challenging us with a story where two great elements stand out: puzzles and combat.
The first are puzzles that we must solve as logically as possible, although in some cases it will be necessary to have an object such as a key and even a potion. That way, by solving those little challenges, we are advancing in history until reaching the second part, the fighting.
These will not need turn-based duels, or accurate movements dodging and hitting the enemy, but rather take on a much more fun form typical of musical games where you have to press the button at a specific moment, as if it were a melody that we are playing on a guitar. It sounds strange… until you try it and see how well they are resolved.
With all of the above, plus the dialogues with a multitude of characters, make this ATONE Heart of the Elder Tree become a pleasant adventure where Midgard takes center stage of a world infested with beasts that we have to clean up. A game that, as we have told you, will jump from Apple Arcade to the rest of the world at the end of January.
