Automatic app synchronization between Android devices is on the way

If you are from Android and not just one, you will be interested to know that Google is implementing the automatic synchronization of apps between Android devicesa function that will help streamline a process that, depending on the number of devices that are managed, will satisfy more than one.

But if Android already synchronizes the applications, you will be telling yourself. And it’s true, but this only happens when signing in on a new device. At that time, the system offers you the option to install the apps that you already have installed on other devices. And that’s it. From then on, everything you install will have to be done by hand.

In fact, the change that concerns us goes a step further than the automatic synchronization of apps between Android devices, and that is that similar to how the web interface of the Play Store worksin which you can choose on which devices with the same Google account to install an app, this option will also be extended to the mobile.

This was discovered via Twitter by one of those curious users who are dedicated to testing preliminary versions of applications and the system, digging through the code, etc. In summary, the apps that you are going to install will show what other devices they are compatible with, so at the same time you can choose whether to install it on one or all of them.

However, the function is deeper and as that curious user responds to another curious user, the preferences of the Play Store will gain a new section called “Sync apps to devices” or “Synchronize apps on devices” whose objective is not lossless and that will allow you to choose between which devices the installed apps are automatically synchronized.

Thus, Google is going to make it easy for multi-device users, first with the option to install the same app on different devices with one click, second with the automatic synchronization setting, which makes sense because it is not the same to have the same apps on two phones or on a tablet, as on a television.

When this new functionality will reach the majority of users of Google’s operating system is another story, since the company has not even confirmed the existence of this feature. But this is not strange either. So… soon it would be the presumption. What is not in doubt is that it will arrive sooner rather than later.
