Beko seeks solutions that promote the sustainability of the planet through a hackathon

Beko has launched a hackathon to train entrepreneurs in the development of new solutions and technologies that help achieve a more sustainable life. The home appliance brand has recently announced the start-up of Hack the Normal 2022 Sustainability.

Organized by the company itself and by its partners TNW and FT Talent, Hack the Normal Sustainability it builds on the success of previous ones, such as Hack the Normal in Africa and Turkey. On this occasion, Beko will host hundreds of top-tier entrepreneurs, engineers and developers in Europe with the aim of developing solutions to tackle some of the most pressing environmental challenges, related to climate change, water management and the economy. circular.

Tackling water pollution or reducing carbon footprint

The event, hybrid and three days longtaking place May 13-15, will invite participating teams to tackle a series of real-world challenges, from removing water pollution to fight against plastic waste and the reduction of the carbon footprint of household products. The winning teams will compete for prizes of up to 50,000 euros to develop their ideas, in addition to receiving advice, support and resources to develop their projects and innovations. In addition, event attendees will have the opportunity to learn about Beko’s success stories, as well as those of other thought leaders in sustainable business, such as WWF or P&G.
