BenQ X3000i, a 4K HDR projector specially designed to play

During the celebration of CES 2022 we told you that BenQ was preparing a new projector specially designed for gamers: the BenQ X3000i. Well, this new model is now on the market and can be booked from the manufacturer’s website. It’s about a projector with native 4K UHD resolution, compatible with HDR10 and that allows the use of Android TV as an operating system.

The BenQ X3000i is a pretty flashy projector. It is cube shaped, with the lens placed in one of the corners and with the rest of the front in black. Interestingly, the body of the projector is white. And we already appreciate the first gaming detail in the red strip that separates the front part from the rest of the body. Another curious thing is that, unlike what is usual, the projector’s controls are placed on one side.

This new BenQ projector measures 272 x 197 x 259 mm, weighing 6.4 kg. Use the DLP projection system and have one 4K UHD native resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels). It has a gloss 3000 ANSI lumenshave a 500,000:1 contrast ratio and one refresh rate up to 240Hz.

The BenQ X3000i offers different refresh rates and response times, depending on the resolution that we use. So that, with 4K UHD resolution we can reach 60 Hz with a response time of 16 ms. With Full HD resolution will be when we can reach 240 Hz, with a response time of 4 ms.

According to the manufacturer, the BenQ X3000i is capable of covering 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. On the other hand, it has the HDR-PRO tone mapping technology for cinematic colors and deep contrasts. This dynamic black technology provides rich contrast and detailed shadows through an algorithm that optimizes the power of light and adjusts the appropriate brightness displayed on the screen to reveal all the details of the darkest scenes.

The BenQ X3000i can project a screen between 30 and 300 inches. It has 1.3x zoom for variable projection factors, 2D keystone correction for perfect alignment and up to 20,000 hours of useful life of the light source (in normal mode) thanks to 4LED technology. On the other hand, BenQ’s automatic color calibration balances the WRGBYCM color points for consistent vibrant color, thereby overcoming natural RGB decay throughout the life of the LED lamp.

So that we can use it right out of the box the projector is equipped with two treVolo 5W speakerswith dynamic stereo enhancement with Bongiovi’s DSP technology.

In addition, the BenQ X3000i can be turned into a “smart projector” thanks to a android tv dongle that connects directly to the device, in a hole that is hidden in the base. This will allow us to access the most popular streaming applications directly from the projector.

In terms of connectivity, the BenQ X3000i includes an optical output, a headphone jack and two HDMI 2.0b connectors, one input and one output. The latter is compatible with ARC. It also has an RS‑232 connector and a powered USB port. The wireless part is covered by its 802.11ac WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth 4.2.

In short, a complete projector that offers native 4K resolution, HDR compatibility, various ways of placement and high response frequencies to get the most out of video games. The BenQ X3000i has been launched with an official price of €1,899 and can now be booked on the manufacturer’s website.
