Beyond Moon Knight: did you know that Oscar Isaac had already appeared before in Marvel?

Without any doubt, the television sensation so far this year is being Moon Knight, the series that narrates the adventures of Marc Spectoran ex-military man with dissociative personality disorder, who tries to stop the return of an Egyptian deity capable of destroying all human civilization.

One aspect that all UCM fans agree to highlight regarding the series is the tremendous performance that its leading actor, Oscar Isaac, gives us, a performer so versatile that he is able to change from the persona of Marc Spector to that of Steven Grant in a matter of seconds and in a way that only shows his enormous talent. In fact, there is so much love that fans have for this character that they already say that is the Robert Downey Jr. of Phase 4, and that he was born to play Moon Knight.

However, before making the leap to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor known for appearing in the final trilogy of starwars, he had already embodied several characters from the Marvel factoryso then we will proceed to remind you what all those stellar appearances have been.

Apocalypse

Shortly after his debut in the saga of Star Warsin 2016, the actor of Guatemalan descent joined the already completed Fox’s X-Men franchise, now owned by The Mouse Company. There he played Apocalypse, the main antagonist of the film X-Men Apocalypse and one of the most powerful mutants both in the movies and in the comics of the team created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Although the actor was delighted to be part of the saga, the fans did not see it that way, and they complained on multiple occasions that the make-up and prosthetics used on the character looked like something out of a children’s play, criticizing Isaac himself for making a terrible performance that did not do justice to such a powerful character. Ironic that they praise him now, don’t you think?

Spider-Man 2099

Two years later, in 2018, this actor returned to embody another character from the Marvel factory, although this time in animated version. Oscar Isaac would give voice to Miguel O’Hara, a version of Spider-Man belonging to an alternative and futuristic dimension, within the Oscar-winning film of Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse.

Although his participation was limited to the post-credits scene, the fans liked the character so much and saw so much potential in him that the creators of the film decided to give him a leading role inside the sequel, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Versewith a release date for next June 2023.

There is no doubt that Oscar Isaac has won a piece of the hearts of the fans, and that is now more evident than ever with everyone asking for a second season of Moon Knight.
