Headphones that impress on their first contact
As soon as we receive this set of headphones we find a product of great quality as a whole, and above all, comfortable. Living up to their name, these headphones have a really soft and pleasant touch, both in their plastic parts and in the pads. In addition, they come in a case folded in such a way that they occupy a very compact space, making them perfect to take with you on a trip or on public transport, for example.
Looking at the helmets themselves in detail, we have a very solid, but perfectly adaptable, extendable headband. The extenders are made of metal and plastic, with good fixation and a very precise extension division.
For its part, the headphones themselves have rotation on two axes, so its adaptability is total. As for the padding, it is thick enough both in the headphones themselves and in the headband, protected by a synthetic imitation leather material. And although it is a synthetic material, it must be said that it is really pleasant to the touch, even after wearing them for hours. In addition, for their size, which is already small, they are very light.
As for the microphone, this is integrated into the headphones themselves and is not removable. The sound, as expected, is crisp and clear and being integrated, allows us not to have a hindrance in the face that perhaps in certain circumstances, such as moving, could bother us. However, what they do not have is a way to mute the microphone, something that we do find quite important.
With respect to buttons, removing the issue of muting the microphone, you have all the essentials. For starters, the main button is the power button. In addition to being used to turn the headphones on and off, it also serves to pair them easily. An interesting solution since it is very intuitive.
On the left earpiece we have a button to activate or deactivate the noise reduction system. On the right, meanwhile, there is a set of three buttons; two to control the volume and another for action to perform different options, such as pausing the music, passing the song or going back. The right earphone also has the charging connector via USB-C. For its part, the left one has a jack type connector to connect by audio cable to any device that has a minijack.
In terms of connectivity, it is simple, but versatile. It has so much Blueooth like connector for audio cable. This means that it will work on practically any device. If we connect it via Bluetooth, the connectivity is the usual one, pair and that’s it. In addition, it allows high definition sound connectivity through this system so we can listen to good quality sound despite being wireless.
Also, something very interesting is that we can connect it to two devices at the same time, even if we only play audio for one. Thus, for example, we can connect it to the PC and the mobile at the same time to be able to alternate the use between one device and another without having to change the connection.
The audio cable is like the usual one, it is simply connected and turned on to listen to what the device plays. What it does not have is a connection through radio frequency, which prevents us from using the helmets without cables on those devices that do not have bluetooth.
About his autonomyBose tells us that the battery lasts 24 hours with active noise cancellation and the volume at an intermediate level. They have not lasted that long for us, rather less than 20 hours. It must also be said that in this sense there is a drawback, and that is that the helmets cannot be used while charging. This means that if we only have them we have to be very careful with the state of the battery, since if it runs out, we will have to wait for about 20 minutes for them to have a sufficient charge for a while.
When talking about the distance range, in which the helmets work, in our case it is about 10-15 meters in closed spaces with walls. This is that we can go to the next room and continue receiving sound, but if we leave a room in between, there we will already have notable cuts.
Sound quality, a great value for these headphones
These helmets are high-end, so this point is really vital. Is the sound quality really up to its price? It has seemed to us that the sound ecosystem that they propose is very convincing. In terms of clarity, it must be said that for any type of sound the result is excellent, whether it is voice, music or multimedia content.
Speaking of the depth of sound, we must say that they fulfill what their specifications promise. In the case of headphones, it is difficult for certain frequencies to be heard in a similar way to what would happen in large speakers. With those Bose CQ 45s this is achieved in quite an interesting way. For example, if we listen to a deep sound accompanied by its own echo, this echo is reproduced with a clarity that is hardly audible in this way in headphones. It is very gratifying to enjoy nuances like this.
Speaking of equalization, the specifications tell us that it incorporates a system to adjust based on the volume of the source and the headphones themselves. Given the crispness of the sound, we think the system performs quite well.
For us there are certain frequencies in the mid-high range that are somewhat muted. However, in its own mobile application that Bose makes available to control the headphones, an equalizer has been included with which to adjust these parameters to taste.
High-rise noise cancellation
Another of the alleged strengths of these helmets is the noise cancellation system. Without a doubt, it seemed to us one of the strengths of these helmets. The level of cancellation is quite high on all types of frequencies, so the level of isolation they provide is very high, perhaps too high if they ring the doorbell. Apart from jokes, we can work or listen to music in a noisy environment without any problem.
It is true that they do not cancel out absolutely all the noise around us, but they do reduce it to a great extent. And of course, we can deactivate it to be aware of what is happening around us. Of course, the sponges already offer some insulation, so with the noise cancellation system deactivated it seems to us that you can work comfortably.

These Bose Quietcomfort 45 headphones are at a great level. Its price is high, but it is largely justified thanks to all the features that are noticeably worked on: design, comfort, sound quality and noise cancellation. They are the elements that the brand itself highlights the most and, of course, they comply. Thus, we can enjoy good sound for long periods of time without discomfort. Another model to add to an offer that does not stop growing.
